When I saw the cover of Murder on the Christmas Express, I had two thoughts: ooh, cozy, and Agatha Christie homage. One of those two impressions was correct. This is so very not a cozy mystery; rape and partner abuse, past and present, features prominently. Best for: Those who enjoy a murder mystery in a locked location (in this case, a derailed train). In a nutshell: Roz, retired Met police officer, is heading north on the sleeper train to be with her daughter, who is giving birth up in Scotland.
