A great time was had. People were slain, revenge was had, plots were foiled, and women of a certain age came out of retirement to clear their names and kick some ass. There’s also a cat named Kevin in here, and I just think that’s important.
I don’t actually think I have too much to say about this one. There wasn’t much deep about it, it’s just a good book, a thriller but more on the cozy end than not. A cozy thriller! Who knew that could be a thing.
Our main character is Billie, and she and her four original co-assassins on an all-female team that came together in the 1970s* are on a cruise to “celebrate” their retirement from the Museum, an international organization of assassins who only target bad people, for the good of the world and stuff. But considering our four ladies become targets themselves on the cruise, something is not right and they are determined to stay alive to find out what is going on.
*I think? Or was it the 1980s? Anyway we get lots of flashbacks from there all the way to the present day so my brain is confused.
Watching these four women (and their occasional co-conspirators) do their thing all across the world, when almost everyone was trying to kill them, was just a really fun time. I would recommend this book to almost anyone, and I would love to see it as a movie.
