Amy is a normal human woman, out in the woods with her paranormal research buddies, when she gets lost and finds Adrian, a Lake Monster who mistakes her for his blind date. He happens to be in the middle of his heat cycle and needs to mate. This may be his last cycle and therefore his last chance to have children. Amy has been reading a lot of Monster Smut (like me!) and is intrigued instead of repulsed. The only problem is what if Adrian’s real blind date shows up?
This was a short novella set in the same world as Stalked by the Kraken, and Lillian Lark writes monster smut in new and interesting ways. I learned all kinds of stuff about oviposition and knotting. Look, we all know these books are ridiculous and that I’m not really reading them for the plot. For some reason, they are just addictive. Monster Smut has become my comfort read over the past year. It’s also fun to read the really really REALLY weird stuff to my husband and watch the ridiculous faces he makes. He doesn’t get it, but he appreciates that I do. He still won’t stop talking about the book with the dragon with two penises. It’s The Dragon’s Bride by Katee Robert in case anyone else is curious.
I highly suggest following Lillian Lark on TikTok. She gives some BONKERS book recommendations, most of which are available on Kindle Unlimited. Ah, good old KU. I never would have started reading Monster Smut without you!
