After buying and reading You’re My Little Pumpkin Pie, I was overjoyed to find out that it was part of a series with books for seemingly every time of year. It’s not quite Easter time, but I couldn’t say no to this one when I found it at a Goodwill in good condition. As with the other book, the illustrations from Natalie Marshall are positively adorable, and the rhymes are equally charming. And, while it’s mildly Easter themed, because of the cover character, that’s only the jumping off point, so it’s good to be read at any time of the year. Having read now two of these books, I wholeheartedly recommend any book in this series to parents with young children. It’s such a cute and sweet way to remind your child during reading time how much you love them, and you can never tell your kids that enough. Plus, the way the cutouts are done makes the book a visually entertaining read too, beyond the illustrations themselves. Honestly, there’s nothing not to like about these books. So next time you are at Target, be on the lookout for books starting with the words “you are my little.” You can thank me later. I already bought another in the series yesterday at Target; I may have the beginnings of a problem, or maybe I’m just getting really invested in this planning for an eventual baby thing. (We’ve been trying for one) Whatever the case may be, I may have all of the series before we ever actually have a baby. But, boy, oh boy, they’ll surely know they’re loved!
Don’t sleep on this series
