This was a very good series and I’m glad I read it. This final book is all the more impressive, knowing how sick the author was when writing it. It read sort of like a fever dream, and this series was already very dreamy. I did think The Moment we were all waiting for was completely anti-climactic, and the Glendower resolution was disappointing, but for me this series was not really about those things, but hanging out with these characters in their world and watching them grow into and alongside each other. In that respect, this was a very good final book.
I don’t really have much to say about this one without spoilers, because we’re so deep into the plot at this point.
I am glad this isn’t really the end of the story, though, and that I have the Dreamers trilogy to look forward to. Ronan was my favorite part of The Raven Cycle, and even though I’ve heard there isn’t much Adam/Ronan content in that series, I’m still very much looking forward to it. There was a lot left on the table about Ronan and the Lynch family at the end of this book.
Ooh, I did want to mention that there is finally a cover for the first book in that trilogy, Call Down the Hawk, that is not hideously ugly. I hope they release the rest of the trilogy in those editions soon, because the ending of The Raven Cycle did leave me wanting more Ronan in my life and I like pretty book covers.
