The Expanse expands on what it got right

I listened to Caliban’s War on Audible. First things first, the performance was fantastic. If you’re into audiobooks, I highly recommend this one. As for the story, I found Caliban’s War to be superior to Leviathan Wakes in part because of the superior cast. It replaces the cop-talk/narrative (not my favorite troupe) with politics, which I found to be an amazing improvement. The addition of Chrisjen Avasarala was a superb upgrade. She is by far my favorite character in the series (a foul mouth grandmother? What’s not to love). It builds off Leviathan Wakes perfectly while ending on a creepy cliffhanger sure to make you want to pick up Abbadon’s Gate.
