I read Lucy Foley’s other popular book The Guest List a few years ago and I enjoyed it. Fun, fast paced, interesting story line, so I was excited for another mystery by Foley. I would read more of these Agatha Christie short story collections featuring notable authors, for sure. Even the ones where Americans tried and failed to capture that British Marple feeling were entertaining in their failure. But most of these stories were pretty successful! One nailed it completely. Lucy Foley has become one of the big names in chick-lit thrillers- you’ve probably seen the cover of this one on some of Goodreads ‘best of’ lists or the eye-level shelf at Indigo (The Guest List, The Hunting Party, The Paris Apartment- think out of focus black and white photos with bright colorful (hot pink, electric yellow, bright red) titles).
