A little Cannonball housekeeping, and a 5 star comic.

March 28, 2016 by Blingle Bells 3 Comments

Before I get down to this review, I have a little housekeeping to take care of. I want to let you guys know that I’m going to start adding a content warning to My reviews. A friend of mine who is a good and sensitive soul recently pointed out that the phrase “trigger warning” could itself be upsetting to someone who has experienced gun violence, and besides, I think that phrase takes us all back to Livejournal in 2002 a little too much. And maybe […]

Adulthood for beginners

March 8, 2016 by Caitlin_D 4 Comments

An Evening with Betty White

August 2, 2015 by faintingviolet 3 Comments

I have a summertime tradition of reading autobiographies. I tend to stick with ones by comedians of various stripes, but that’s more happenstance than plan. I have had If You Ask Me (And of Course You Won’t) on my to read list since sometime in the winter of 2012. Well, I finally got my act together and here we are. I’m happy to report that if you love Betty White (and seriously, if you don’t how do you even live with yourself?) and are in […]

A Silly Little Collection of Historical Facts

March 5, 2014 by faintingviolet Leave a Comment

Synopsis Via Goodreads: When Tony Perrottet heard that Napoleon’s “baguette” had been stolen by his disgruntled doctor a few days after the Emperor’s death, he rushed out to New Jersey. Why? Because that’s where an eccentric American collector who had purchased Napoleon’s member at a Parisian auction now kept the actual relic in an old suitcase under his bed. The story of Napoleon’s privates triggered Perrottet’s quest to research other such exotic sagas from history, to discover the actual evidence behind the most famous age-old […]
