Everyone poops! In the ocean, on land and even the sky (WATCH OUT!) and in this book, Ooo…Poo! You see written at an easy reading and understanding level, the different types and words, for it. It starts off with the end pages giving you a um…colorful…. bunch of words (feces) for the thing some call poo. Then we go farther along in the book by Elliot Kreloff (who looks like they enjoy the scoop on poop and really want to share with you) we see that there are all shapes (wombats) sizes (mouse, elephant) and even aromas (baby diaper? PEEEEEEEEEEEEEUUUUUUU!)
The humor is there, but you (unlike the Bunny of the story) do not step into it. It is just there, ready for you to acknowledge it. Yes, like the poo, humor floats, falls, and piles up. And it does not sit just there, waiting. Nope, it can help us too. After being processed some poo is turned into fresh water, and some into fertilizer (we see how this is done in very simple mechanics). Poo also helps us by carrying seeds so where it falls, you might get a new plant. Also, our poo can help doctors find out what is wrong with us.
There are facts within the young, bouncy text as well as several at the end (you might think twice about Hawaiian sandy beaches once you learn what it is made of) and the old wombat cubes. I also learned that birds (while I know they do not fart from Jop and Blip Wanna Know #1: Can You Hear a Penguin Fart on Mars? by Jim Benton) they have the act of peeing and pooping at the same time. Though it is aimed at toddlers on up, this toddler-at-heart had fun learning and giggling, too (A bunch of colorful flies swarming around giant piles of elephant dung? Funny!)
