I have read a LOT of supernatural smutty novels in the last few months that I haven’t gotten around to reviewing, so here’s a roundup.
Yearning for Her by Tiffany Roberts
Willow learns her boyfriend has been cheating on her when he tells her that he wants to have a poly relationship, and he already is! This hit a little too close to home because that actually happened to me in real life. She tells her shitty boyfriend to fuck off and has a one-night stand with Kian, a white-haired, pierced stranger who gives her a ton of orgasms. Unfortunately, that part did not happen to me in real life. Anyway, Kian happens to be an Incubus, a demon who feeds on human desire. Usually, he feeds and then immediately moves on, but he finds himself unable to get Willow out of his head. Feeding from other women disgusts him to the point that he can’t get an erection and he is actually starving when he finally finds Willow again.
This book was very sexy and the characters were interesting (Hello, plus-size representation!). I definitely need to read some more Tiffany Roberts. This was my first, but I have heard a lot of good things!

The Orc from the Office by Kate Prior
Janice works a boring office job where she just so happens to also work with monsters. One day, while a 10-foot-tall Orc from IT is helping her with a stuck file cabinet drawer, she accidentally breaks his nose with her elbow. As if this isn’t awkward enough, in Orc culture, drawing blood makes them mate-bonded! This is frowned upon by HR, and Janice and Khent try to fight their insane attraction, but it is damn near impossible. They of course keep getting thrown together in awkward circumstances, like when Khent has to remove Orc porn from Janice’s computer, which she was just looking at for research purposes!
This was super cute, and I love the concept of regular humans and monsters working together at a boring corporate office. I need to read more books in this series. It would make a perfect palette cleanser between some of my more serious fantasy reads.

To Seduce a Siren by Jenny Nordbak
Astrid is a tavern wench with a shitty Dad on an island ruled by Pirates. She has a dark secret though. She is a Siren, which is an automatic death sentence. Her father sells her as a debt to Talon Thorvald, an exiled Pirate Prince who is also a Berserker. They are wedded, and right when they are getting down to consumating it, a battle breaks out. Talon thinks Astrid has betrayed them, and Astrid thinks Talon has discovered she is a Siren, so she runs away. Seven years pass, and Astrid is now a Pirate herself. What will happen when she runs into her husband?
I liked this book, even if there was a lot of miscommunication and not a lot of substance. This is definitely a case of “He Falls First” and Talon is a total simp for his wife.

To Win a Witch’s Heart by Andie J. Christopher
I read this in August and I barely remember what happened. Xavier is a pirate. Mercy is a witch. He is obsessed with winning a boat race, so he CAN’T FALL IN LOVE!!! But he does. That is the main conflict of the story. They have a lot of sexy times, but HE HAS TO FOCUS ON RACING!!!
This book was kind of dumb, but the spice was good.

Demonic Prince by Karen Kincy
Pyrah is a dragon shifter, who likes to just sit in her cave and hoard her gold, thank you very much. It’s not her fault that dragon slayers try to prove themselves and she has to kill them to defend herself! One day she is actually captured by Rook, a demon prince who has a magical chain that forces her to stay in her human form. He’s not trying to kill her though. He needs dragon fire to free his sister from the evil queen holding her captive. Oh, and he’s an Incubus so he feeds on sexual energy in dreams. Bet that won’t come up later…
I really enjoyed this book more than I should have. Pyrah and Rook had excellent banter, and it was nice to see the badass shifter character be the woman instead of the man for once! The main conflict arose when a male dragon shifter appeared and she had to choose between him and Rook. I mean, alpha male dickhead of the same species or sexy sex dream demon? Not much conflict!
