Well Met

Well Met by Jen Deluca

December 29, 2020 by Caitycat 1 Comment

I received Well Met from the CBR Gift Exchange last year. I was sent a lovely copy of the book that was autographed by the author.

Well Met is the story of Emily, who is staying with her sister and niece while the sister recovers from a broken leg. One of Emily’s duties ends up being taking part in a renaissance festival. Her niece, Caitlin, can’t participate without an adult. So Emily becomes Emma the barwench. Unfortunately, Emily clashes with Simon, English teacher, director of the festival, and (To Emily) spoilsport. In my opinion, she kind of blows their interaction out of proportions, but your mileage may vary.

As the faire goes on, it becomes clear that Simon has a thing for Emily. He flirts with her as his pirate character, but she doesn’t get the same vibes from his regular personality. They flirt, they contemplate feelings, they fight…it eventually works out in the end. It makes me almost wish to be part of a ren fest myself, or at least attend one (Cue sad 2020 face).

Thanks again to my giftee!

Oh yay! I hope you enjoyed it. And all the frowny faces about not being able to go places in 2020
