I’m pretty sure I hate this book

Don't You Cry by Mary Kubica

So I was right when I made the title of this post. I definitely hated this book.  It promise to be single white female on steroids. Sounds exciting right? What I got was nine and a half hours of nothing happening between people, no single white female anything, and characters that I really had a hard time rooting for.

I would’ve given it 1 star, but the last half hour was pretty good. Why oh why did I have to slog through the other nine and a half hours of crap though? There was no tension, no excitement, and no characters that I really liked. So so much nothing happened!

I listened to most of this on super fast forward.  That’s never a good sign from me.   The sad part about this book is that there was a pretty good story in the end. It just took way too long to get to the actual story. If there was a little bit more of the excitement sprinkled throughout it would have been much better.

I wanted to get my terrible opinion of this book down as quickly as possible, so I’m  speaking it into my phone as I get ready for bed. These two are not amused…

Anyway, clearly I don’t recommend this book. I just hate not finishing a book, especially when I really want to know what the mystery is. I don’t want to say that the twist was worth it, because it very much wasn’t, but I wish the twist had been part of a better book!

I love to read. I'm usually reading at least 3 books at a time. They're not all good... some are really bad. I have trouble not finishing books though. Now CBR has doubled down on that trouble, because I want to get credit for reading the bad ones too!
