Summary: After bravely rescuing Miss Peregrine from the clutches of evil wights and hollowgasts, Jacob and crew are setting out for London. They must find another ymbryne in order to help Miss Peregrine turn back to her normal self. Landing on the main land, they must escape the wights on their tail. On their journey they find even more peculiars and strange allies as well as more evil zombies. Will they save Miss Peregrine in time?
The plot in this one was just as fascinating, if not more so. The gang has to venture out into the “real world” and they don’t have the protection of their loop to save them from the bombs. They journey through the countryside and London making allies and foes. My favorite new character was Addison MacHenry. First of all he’s a talking dog! Secondly, he’s a sassy talking dog! It just doesn’t get better than that!
Millard is still fantastic, I love my small precious invisible son. He is such a kind and intelligent soul and I hope he finds someone, because he does not deserve to be lonely! In this sequel, we see a huge development in the whole gang. They are all tested and have to help with their powers and it’s wicked cool. They become more of a team and learn to rely on each other more instead of running, they make a stand and take out a couple hollows with them.
This is definitely not one of those filler sequels, shit happens in this book. Important shit at that. We learn more about the peculiar world and the wight’s plan. Those things are so evil and ugh! They need to all drop dead. My bet is that Jakob still has a huge role to play and he’ll either get rid of all the wights or convince them to not do evil things. Jakob is still a lovely narrator and it’s so easy to be in his head. I’m excited to see some butt kicking in Library of Souls!
