Yesterday was rather a stressful day for me. I had to go to hospital and have my stitches removed, I had to get a couple of last minute Christmas presents in absolutely heaving stores (Christmas is celebrated on the 24th in Norway), I lost my wallet out of one of my bulging shopping bags on my way home and had to call the bank to block my bank cards (although a lovely lady called me and had found the wallet, so I got that back later in the day). I had to pack and get myself, the husband and two half-grown kittens ready for a four-day stay at my mother’s for the holidays. When I got home, I found a pick-up slip in the post box announcing that there was a parcel for me from the US. I dropped everything else and hurried to get it, as I knew it would be my Cannonball Exchange gift. I was right!
The parcel had been slightly damaged in transit, but the presents inside didn’t seem to have fared to badly, with the exception of a rip in the paper on one of them. There were two wrapped books, a lovely card from Bonnie (which I sadly forgot to include in any of the pictures) and a little tin of Book Darts, which is a great resource for someone like me always on the lookout for a book mark.
Inside the presents I found Golden Boy by Abigail Tarttelin (see, Narfna, you influence my book choices at least as much as I do yours) and The Beekeeper’s Apprentice by Laurie R. King, which about five different people have told me I HAVE to read. So I’m very much looking forward to getting to them for Cannonball 8.
Thank you so much, Bonnie! It made a really very stressful day end happily. I’m sorry I wasn’t able to include a card for you, since I ordered all your books online.
